The development of Distance Education in Higher Education Institutions requires a series of adaptations to this educational modality, which also affects university libraries as information support units for teaching, research and extension. Distance learning becomes the target audience of these units, requiring products and services, especially technological ones, to support the teaching-learning process. Objective: To identify actions aimed at providing environments/platforms for distance learning services in libraries of institutions that are part of the Open University of Brazil. Methodology: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The institutions were consulted through the SisUAB system, and data were collected by applying an online questionnaire with library managers of these institutions. Results: It can be seen that out of the 76 responding institutions, only three identified integration actions through an environment/platform for distance learning, and the service to this public is mostly centered on making virtual libraries and databases available. What stands out is the professionals' view that there is no need for differentiated services for distance and face-to-face audiences, with the maxim that all services are available to all audiences. Conclusion: The initiatives are few in relation to the universe of institutions investigated, so that actions to mitigate this information gap need to be increased and made more effective.Item Categorização da agricultura familiar nas políticas públicas de profissionalização no Brasil(2023-12-01) Alves, Renato Marques; Santos, Júlio José Torres dos; Dourado, Tábata Figueiredo; Vieira, Denes Dantas; Duarte, Francisco Ricardo; Oliveira, Lúcia Marisy Souza Ribeiro de; Santos, Marcelo Henrique Pereira dosThe present article aimed to analyze peasant family farming, through concepts present in the various policies of Brazilian professionalization and development prospects for the countryside within the scope of the Federal Government, in the period 2003 to 2022. However, first we present the concepts and historical milestones pertinent to the professional education of the field. Next, there is a theoretical debate about the evolution of the concepts of peasantry and family agriculture, starting from the theoretical bases of Abramovay (1992), Wanderley (1998), Lipton (1968), Santos (1978) and Martins (1975). The research was conducted using the systematic literature review method. The results present the policies and professionalization programs for the field workers; they raise questions about the professional qualification aimed at the rural population that subordinates the peasant tradition to the capitalist production model; and the demands of the youth and youth category in the field complain of discontinuity and short duration in professional training. It is concluded from the literature survey that the public policies and programs created by the Brazilian government boosted productive activities and income generation, but submitting these rural workers to the logic of agribusiness as a proposed governance model for the economic development of the country.Item Competência em Informação para a EaD: Contribuições para o Processo de Aprendizagem(2024-09-16) Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Ramos, Jorge Luis Cavalcanti; Duarte, Francisco Ricardo; Marques, Victor Cavalcanti; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3791-0572; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6099-6861; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9102-8273; https://orcid.org/0009-0001-2308-0766The workinvestigates the interrelationships between Distance Education and Information Literacy, presenting contributions from the development of informationliteracyto the learning process in distance education. Student learning in distance education is challenging, requiring a set of skills to build autonomy and independent learning, an aspectal so discussed in the field of Information Science, based on information literacy. This competence is related to the ability to search for, use and manage information, making individuals able to search for, interpret and use quality information to build their own knowledge, and is closely related to the objectives of distance education. The research is bibliographical in nature with a qualitative an alysisof the literature retrieved, correlating information literacy standards with competence guidelines for distance education. The research suggests that by acquiring information literacy, individuals change their informational behavior and the way they handle information, making them better able to interpret and construct their learning in distance education.Item Curadoria da informação em agroecologia e desenvolvimento territorial: desafios e possibilidades para gestão compartilhada do conhecimento(2023-08-20) Alves, Renato Marques; Duarte, Francisco Ricardo; Oliveira, Lúcia Marisy Souza Ribeiro de; Ramos, Ricardo ArgentonItem Curadoria em rede de conhecimento agroecológico e desenvolvimento territorial: protocolo para integração e difusão de materiais técnico-científicos congêneres(Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco, 2025-06-05) Alves, Renato Marques; Oliveira, Lúcia Marisy Souza Ribeiro de; Duarte, Francisco RicardoIn the era of networked services, one of the topics that has been the subject of studies at Universities and Research Institutions is the development of tools for sharing data from publications and other digital materials between institutions. Among the numerous reasons for these studies, collaborative information governance stands out as one of the key interfaces for network integration, along with the expansion of interoperable information systems and the essential role of curation in permanent digital preservation. However, one of the challenges faced is finding ways to materialize a service for sharing data and technical-scientific texts from peer organizations, because on the one hand, there is the decentralized process of production, management and distribution of knowledge; and on the other, the difficult task of controlling partner institutions to keep the data on productions generated updated, through voluntary collaboration. Given the scenario outlined above, a study was developed using the Postgraduate Program in Agroecology and Territorial Development (PPGADT) as an empirical reference in association with 03 Public Universities, whose flows of collection, storage, processing and sharing of technical-scientific productions are the responsibility of each associated university. In the preliminary assessment, information problems were identified, specifically in relation to the dispersion and fragmented management of information. The implications vary, such as potential risks of duplication of work in the research lines; difficulties in quickly accessing data on publications and even in their recovery. Based on this, the question was: how to develop a protocol based on the concept of a network for the integration and dissemination of knowledge produced in the PPGADT network. The general objective was to develop a protocol for the integration and dissemination of knowledge in the network that forms the Postgraduate Program in Agroecology and Territorial Development (PPGADT), based on institutional repositories. The research method used was the Multiple Case Study (three selected cases), through a combination of research techniques for collecting and producing research data. The results showed that PPGADT members adopt practices for organizing publications on various research platforms/directories, as well as on academic social networks. Regarding searches for internal publications, they report that they find it easy to retrieve theses and final products, but have difficulty locating other materials produced during their training. Library professionals report a shortage of human resources for both curation activities and ongoing technical maintenance of digital repositories, as structural problems that impact the collection and management of all local academic production. The study concludes by presenting some alternatives for removing the barriers that limit access to publications and lists recommendations for an information sharing service on agroecology and territorial development among peer institutions.scientific information between PPGADT centersItem Feiras Agroecológicas e Orgânicas em Juazeiro-Petrolina: um Patrimônio Sociocultural para uma Alimentação Saudável(2024-03-07) Coelho , Ana Carla Mendes; Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Almeida, Raniere de Carvalho; Pacheco, Clecia Simone Gonçalves Rosa; Ramos, Jorge Luis Cavalcanti; Oliveira, Lucia Marisy Souza Ribeiro deFairs, whether free or market, represent more than a food trade. They are an intangible heritage, a socio-cultural expression that dates back more than half a century in Brazil, having arisen during its colonization, in order to boost its economy, initially agricultural, giving rise to the first cities. The object of this article is the agroecological and organic fairs in the Juazeiro/BA and Petrolina/PE regions. Its aim is to discuss the contribution of agroecological and organic fairs in Juazeiro/BA and Petrolina/PE to socio-cultural heritage and healthy eating. The methodology used to achieve this goal was a literature review with basic documentary research and an exploratory-explanatory objective with a qualitative bias. The study was carried out from September 3 to October 31, 2023. It is justified by the need to research and disseminate these models of sustainable, alternative fairs. The results of this study showed that agroecological and organic fairs incorporate perspectives that result in the well-being and quality of life of the subjects, by offering them food and other products within production and marketing standards that favor a healthy diet, rich in vitamins, nutrients and proteins of plant and animal origin, including those certified by audit or in a participatory manner. The results indicated that these fairs represent a new social, cultural and environmental way of dealing with the food/nutritional issue, and that in the cities analyzed it is already possible to find some successful experiences, making it essential to bring these practices to the center of discussions. It was concluded that agroecological and organic fairs play an important role in society due to their socio-cultural importance, above all because they prioritize life and the environment over capital. Although they are still incipient experiences in the cities surveyed, they have gained ground in the face of the current market model, which demonstrates their potential.Item Information curation in agroecology and territorial development: protocols for the management of digital collections(2024-01-31) Alves, Renato Marques; Duarte, Francisco Ricardo; Oliveira, Lúcia Marisy Souza Ribeiro de; Ramos, Ricardo ArgentonWith the advancement of digital communication technologies, the need for protocols to establish governance, rules, or procedures in information network relationships arose. The protocols for the management and dissemination of digital collections follow procedures from Information Science, Open Scientific Communication, and Computing. In the context of this work that investigates the formation of an associative network between three universities to execute a Postgraduate Program in Agroecology and Territorial Development (PPGADT), the previous diagnosis identified decentralized flows for collection, storage, treatment, and dissemination of academic production; growth of online publications; and their dispersion across different storage devices, increasing the risk of loss of institutional memory. From this perspective, this study aimed to review the literature to analyze the current theoretical approaches to support the construction of a knowledge dissemination protocol in the PPGADT network. The conducting method was bibliographical research. The results point to the relevance of knowledge about agroecology and territorial development for the dynamism of the economy, public policies on territorial impact, sustainability, and strengthening of the identity of rural producers. It is concluded that the multi-institutional collections network is one of the strategies for integrating and disseminating networked knowledge in the domain analyzed here.Item Interface entre Vulnerabilidade e Desenvolvimento: Prosperidade Social na RIDE Petrolina-Juazeiro(2023-11-19) Almeida, Raniere de Carvalho; Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Coelho, Ana Carla Mendes; Ramos, Jorge Luís Cavalcanti; Oliveira, Adelson Dias de; Pacheco, Clécia Simone Gonçalves RosaSocial vulnerability and human development are indicators related to the socioeconomic, political and environmental field, capable of characterizing the level of social prosperity of a population in a given context, unveiling evils and at the same time subsidizing the planning of policies that will favor the well-being of the collectivity. In this sense, the study aims, from the discussion of the interface between the Social Vulnerability Index (IVS) and the Human Development Index (HDI), to analyze the level of social prosperity of RIDE – Petrolina/Juazeiro. As a methodological procedure, this work uses bibliographic-documentary research, starting with the collection of data in virtual and institutional databases such as IPEA (Atlas of Social Vulnerability/Atlas Brazil) and IBGE, and analyzing specific indicators with basic descriptive statistics and the support of RStudio and LibreOffice Calc software. Its results bring important reflections on the role of public policies and their management, aiming at the reduction of social inequalities. It was found that its level of prosperity was very low in 2000, becoming medium after a decade (2010), based on the reduction of the IVS and the growth of the IDHM.Item Modelo de negócio Canvas aplicado à repositórios digitais institucionais(2024-12-22) Alves, Renato Marques; Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Duarte, Francisco Ricardo; Ramos, Jorge Luis Cavalcanti; Oliveira, Lúcia Marisy Souza Ribeiro deItem Núcleo informacional do Sistema de Bibliotecas da Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco como suporte para a educação a distância e ao desenvolvimento territorial(Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco, 2025-05-30) Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Duarte, Francisco Ricardo; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9102-8273; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1491869394270803; Ramos, Jorge Luis Cavalcanti; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6099-6861; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1438322656914569; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3791-0572; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3373141381698319By establishing an educational model not limited to physical space, Distance Education (DE) becomes a timely force for territorial development through the training of social actors. The University Library is an ally in this process by promoting, through information literacy actions, autonomy and independent learning for DE students. Within the context of the Integrated Library System of the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco (Univasf), a gap was identified in services directed at DE and a lack of technological infrastructure to offer informational resources, which limited its performance. In this context, the objective of this research was to develop a virtual informational hub within the library to support the training of DE students in the territories where the institution operates. The Design Science Research methodology was adopted, comprising the following phases: delimitation of context and problem; design and development of the artifact; and the knowledge cycle. In the first phase, a questionnaire was applied to students from five undergraduate DE programs at Univasf regarding library products and services. During the design cycle, a survey was conducted at relevant academic events and among University Library Systems participating in the Open University of Brazil Program. In the theoretical cycle, a literature review was carried out. The results revealed a lack of integration between the library and DE, reflected in limited awareness and use of services, especially training programs. Most of the assessed items received less than 50% positive responses. Students confirmed the need for specific support, with 72% agreement. In the survey of other Library Systems, most, 64.5%, reported not offering DE specific services, limiting their offerings to virtual materials. Only three similar initiatives were identified. As the main outcome of this research, e-Sibi, the DE Information Hub, was developed using the WordPress framework and Scrum methodology. It was organized into three main areas: research and information, training, and user support. e-Sibi was promoted, used, and evaluated by the target audience, showing a significant improvement in students’ perception of Univasf libraries’ engagement in DE and in their knowledge of library products and services. In the evaluation phase, most items received over 50% positive responses. Library service ratings improved from "Fair" to "Excellent". Despite the increased awareness, practical use remains limited, requiring additional actions to encourage effective engagement. The Hub was technically validated by users through the Technology Acceptance Model questionnaire for new technologies, being recognized by DE students with 70% or higher positive response rates as a useful, easy-to-use tool with potential to enhance academic performance. This research reinforces the role of e-Sibi and the University Library in promoting integration and autonomous learning for DE students, with the potential to positively impact territorial development through the improved training of local actors. To achieve this, it is essential to integrate the library into the planning of DE academic activities and community-oriented actions.Item Origem e evolução da agricultura familiar no nordeste semiárido(2022) Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Farias, Polianna dos Santos de; Coelho, Ana Carla MendesItem Plano Diretor Participativo do Município de Petrolina e Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS): um diálogo necessário para o desenvolvimento territorial sustentável(2023-10-31) Oliveira, Lúcia Marisy Souza Ribeiro de; Coelho, Ana Carla Mendes; Silva, Ana Paula Lopes da; Oliveira, Luciana Souza de; Alves, Renato MarquesThis paper aims to analyze the Participatory Master Plan of the municipality of Petrolina as a local development policy and its dialogue with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) present in the 2030 Agenda with a view to achieving sustainable territorial development. Through a qualitative bibliographical study and document analysis, it was possible to understand and identify convergences of the themes of sustainable development and territorial development policies, as well as crossings of the SDGs and proposals of the Master Plan analyzed. It was evidenced that, of the 17 (seventeen) objectives agreed upon in the 2030 Agenda, 13 (thirteen) are included in the drafting of the Master Plan, although, by the analysis of the Sustainable Development Index of Cities - Brazil (IDSC-BR), only 2 (two) were fully achieved. The study revealed that most SDGs are present in the Municipality management planning, but have not been effectively implemented at the municipal level. In this perspective, it will be necessary to deepen this dialogue between the Manager Plan of the Municipality and practical actions for the effective fulfillment of the SDGs with the participation of governments, civil society, and private initiative.
