Item Plano de Conservação Ambiental: Paleodunas de Casa Nova(2021-11-25) Pacheco, Clécia Simone Gonçalves RosaThe study Environmental Conservation Plan: Paleodunes of Casa Nova – BA is a significant technical and scientific work focused on the environmental, historical, social, and economic analysis of the paleodune areas located in the municipality of Casa Nova, in the state of Bahia, within the Lago de Sobradinho Environmental Protection Area (APA). The work is the result of research conducted within the scope of the Graduate Program in Agroecology and Territorial Development at UNIVASF, with the central objective of proposing an Environmental Conservation Plan aimed at mitigating anthropogenic impacts and regulating land use and occupation. The research presents a detailed edaphoclimatic characterization of the region, addressing aspects related to the semi-arid climate, caatinga vegetation, geomorphology, hydrography, and soil types. The study highlights the ecological importance of the fluvio-aeolian paleodunes of the São Francisco River, highlighting their environmental fragility in the face of unregulated exploitation, sand extraction, unsustainable tourism, agricultural activities, and urban expansion. In addition to the physical-environmental analysis, the report examines the historical, cultural, and socioeconomic aspects of the municipality of Casa Nova, emphasizing the influence of the São Francisco River on the region’s territorial, economic, and cultural development.
